Units
In the software, a metric unit is always attached to a document.
You can set the default unit thanks to Unit settings. This unit will be automatically applied to new projects (or to former projects without unit).
When you import data, unit may be embedded in the file (this depends on the format): data will be scaled so as to fit your project according to its unit. Otherwise, you have to specify the unit at import.
Obviously, if the file embed the wrong unit, you will have to correct this with the command Resize.

Units and result accuracy
The chosen unit affects result accuracy. Moreover, in some commands, very low input values could not be taken into account.

Globally, large units are not suitable for metrological purposes.
