This command registers a cloud and a model (usually a BIM object).

Requirements

Select the cloud and the BIM, CAD or mesh object to align and launch the command.

  1. The view is split in two: the cloud to the left and the surfacic object to the right.

  2. Select which object you want to move.

  3. Then click in the scene to prealign the objects by matching two coordinate systems:

    1. Click a point to define the coordinate system orientation in the cloud reference frame (see Wall).

    2. Define its origin using Define points. Choose a remarkable point you will find in the surfacic object (for instance, a corner).

    3. Click a point to define the coordinate system orientation in the surfacic object reference frame (see Wall). Pay attention not to select the opposite orientation: use the same wall side.

    4. Define its origin using Define points. Use the same point. Once clicked, the objects are brought back to the same view.

    5. Press ENTER to launch the pre-alignment.

  4. Set the maximum Attraction distance used for the best fit computation.

  5. Optionally, you can choose to Preserve Z axis orientation.

Notes
