Manual Classification

This command is used to select points from cloud(s) and classify them.

Requirements

Select all of the clouds you want to handle and launch the command (without any selection, you will edit all visible clouds).

Classification data is not mandatory to enter the command.


  1. Choose a selection tool:

      to draw a freehand contour. Click and hold the left button pressed to draw the contour.

    2. images/download/attachments/173278227/PolylineTool.svg

      to draw a polygon contour. Click every vertex. Undo the last vertex with DEL key. Close the contour with ENTER or C.

      to draw a rectangular contour. Click and hold the left button pressed to draw a window or click 3 points (first corner, direction and rectangle height).

      to draw a circular contour. Click the center and hold the left button pressed to enlarge the circle or click 3 points on it.

  2. Choose whether you are going to add or remove points to the selection:

      to add to the selection.

    2. images/download/attachments/173278227/RemoveFromSelection.svg

      to remove from the selection.

  3. Draw your contour. Note that rotation with the right mouse button is locked while you are drawing the contour.

  4. Rotate the view and extrude your contour: drag and drop a contour edge (or a red ball with the shift key pressed).

  5. Modify the contour with the red balls. Drag and drop them to move the contour. Both basis are simultaneously modified. You can also select several balls with the CTRL key.

  7. Apply an action to your selection:

    1. images/download/attachments/173278227/Delete_White.svg to delete any classification from the selected points. They are set to the class 0. The shortcut CTRL+DELETE has the same effect.

    2. images/download/attachments/173278227/Add.svg to add the selected points in the active class chosen in the list. The shortcut CTRL+ENTER has the same effect.

    3. images/download/attachments/173278227/CmdManualClassificationAddNew.svg to add the selected points in a class chosen from the contextual menu that appears when the button is clicked. The shortcut CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER has the same effect.

  8. Handle intermediary results, click:

    1. On the Active radiobutton to choose the Active class.

    2. images/download/attachments/173278227/Pencil.svg to change the class of all points belonging to the clicked class.

    3. images/download/attachments/173278227/Lock.svg to lock or unlock the object. No selection occurs on a locked object.

    4. images/download/attachments/173278227/LightOn.svg to hide or display the cloud. No selection occurs on a locked object.

    5. images/download/thumbnails/173278227/ic_clean13.png

      to change the object representation.

  9. Access the classification settings in order to change the names and colors of classes, and select your favorites to find them more easily in the lists of classes.

The button Pick class allows checking which class is associated to a clicked point. Press Enter or ESC to exit the tool.

Edit Classes acts as a shortcut to edit the class definitions from the Settings page.

The Reset, Undo and Redo actions are available in this command until you reach memory limitations.
