From Geometry

This command transforms the geometrical features (surfacic or linear) into polylines. This command is particularly useful if you want to use a geometrical shape in a command as a polyline.

Requirements

Select the geometrical shape(s) you want to convert and launch the command. As there is no edge on a sphere, the command is not enabled for a sphere.

This command has 2 options:

  • Deviation: this value is the deviation between the geometrical feature and the discretized feature (mesh or polyline). In this option, points are not evenly spaced. The result is an object with the minimum number of points to satisfy the criteria.

  • Points evenly spaced. Average distance between points: the option will use a grid of points/vertices to discretize the feature.

If you want to use the default parameter, put 0 in one of the two fields. See below for details about default values.

Notes

When the option Points evenly spaced. Average distance between points is selected, the deviation is shown for information. However, when the option Deviation is selected, the distance between points has no meaning, so it is hidden (the points are not evenly spaced).
