Profile 3D Inspection-Volume Over Under

This step computes over/under volumes.

  1. Set the Overbreak and Underbreak colors. It is also possible to customize them using Edit color (note there is no protection in this case and you might define inappropriate gradients according to the UI).

  2. Set the computation Step that is to say the distance between profiles that will be used to compute the volumes. Decrease this parameter to compute more intermediary profiles and to get a better accuracy (but a longer computation time).

  3. Define the computation Range.

  4. Click Compute.

Tips & Tricks

  • The detailed computation is available through the report editor.

  • The color gradient is saved for your future Profile 3D Inspection workflow.

Technical information

The method used is the interpolation between profiles. The tunnel is divided into parts corresponding to defined profiles. For each part, subprofiles are created and surfaces are computed in order to interpolate the volumes.

When profiles are opened, their surfaces (over/under) cannot be computed. They are replaced by approximate ones which can lead to inaccurate or wrong volumes. To get the best from this command, please fill holes and eliminate double layers of both meshes.
