Real Colors

This command splits cloud(s) according to the real color on each point. Points having a color similar to the selected one will be grouped in a point cloud. For example, you can use this command to select all the green points in a cloud in order to filter the vegetation.

Select at least one cloud containing real colors and launch the command.

Pick one or several points in the scene or define the RGB values of the color you want to extract. The selected color is displayed in a small square next to the RGB values corresponding.

Define the Tolerance using the slider. It is possible to define a value between:

  1. Strict means that only the points having exactly the same color as the defined will be extracted.

  2. Default is a good value in most cases.

  3. Tolerant means that points having roughly the same color as the defined will be extracted.

Choose the cloud you want to display by clicking bulbs.

And optionally, define the name of the extracted cloud, to add information about the color of the extracted object.

Validate the command with OK, Exit, continue with OK, Next, display the result with Preview or close the dialog box with Cancel.

If you click OK, Next, the extracted cloud will be hidden in the next step. Thus, you will be able to segment according to another color.

Limit objects manipulation is available in this command with CTRL+SPACE shortcut.
