Export pipes

This step exports the selected pipe traces, or sends them directly to other compatible applications.

  1. Optionally Check/Uncheck individually the pipe traces to export (use the quick select buttons to Export all/Export none pipes).

  2. Optionally Display/Hide the pipe traces or change their color thanks to the list.

  3. Optionally Rename or Edit the thickness of each element composing the pipe traces extracted thanks to the list (this is only exported through BIM export).

  4. Choose an Export type among the following ones:

    • BIM: to save an IFC file. Choose the IFC type which describes the best the model (ducts, pipes or cables).

    • Mesh: to save a STL, OBJ, DXF, GLB or FBX file composed of all elements of the pipe traces or send them directly to other compatible applications (Refer to Send to).

      • Optionally, create and apply a texture to the exported meshes using the point cloud real colors (only available with compatible formats: OBJ, GLB, FBX).

    • CAD: to save an IGES or STEP file composed of all elements of the pipe traces as CAD surfaces.

    • Linear (Center axis and profiles): to save an IGES or STEP file composed of the center axis and profiles of all elements of the pipe traces as CAD curves.

    • Table of pipes information: to save a CSV recording all pipe elements.

Notes

  • The exported geometry is always surfacic (no exception with ifc model: the material thickness is only an attribute).

  • The export will use the currently active coordinate system.

  • Use Undo button to cancel the last edition and Redo button to re-enable it. At any time, you can go back up to 30 steps. Older history will be permanently lost. In this step, you can only edit the thickness of the elements and the color of the traces.
