Draw cone

This command enables you to draw/create cones with some constraints.

  1. You can force a Point by clicking on the lock. You can either enter the XYZ coordinates in the edit controls or click on the icon images/download/attachments/113546885/AddPoint.svg to click a point in the scene.

  2. You can force a Normal by clicking on the lock. You can either enter the XYZ values of the vector in the edit controls or click on the icon images/download/attachments/113546867/Normal1.svg to define a Direction in the scene.

  3. You can also force the Radius (R), the Angle (A) and the Height (H) by clicking on the checkbox.

    Fixed parameters are not compatible with more than 4 points clicked.

Click on Cancel to close the command.

Click on OK, Next to validate the temporary object and stay in the command.

Click on OK, Exit to validate the temporary object and close the command.

You may encounter an error: "Impossible to compute a cone with an angle equal to " that prevents from creating a self intersecting cone.

At least 4 points are required.

Rule

N = 4

The first three points define the base circle.

The fourth point is used to calculate the angle and length.

N > 4

A best cone is done with all the clicked points
