This command creates 2 clouds by projecting grids onto mesh(es). Making a regular grid is useful to emulate software that are only able to treat grids. In particular, it is the case of all softwares which do image processing and use a CCD matrix.

Select all the meshes on which the grids must be projected and launch the command.

  1. Choose the direction for grid projection:

    1. Default: projection in Z direction of a grid with an horizontal axis along X axis

    2. Custom direction: you can choose the Direction, the Horizontal axis, the Origin and the Offset of the grid.

  2. Choose the grid parameters:

    1. 2D Grid: project all the points on a best plane computed from the selected mesh(es).

    2. 3D Grid: compute the grid projected on the selected mesh(es).

  3. Choose the Horizontal and Vertical steps of the grid.

  4. You have the possiblity to extract the grid contours using the Contour checkbox.

  5. Validate the command with OK, display the result with Preview or close the dialog box with Cancel.
